The ASA Commonwealth-funded primary care and Quality use of Medicines for Insomnia and Sleep Health (QUMISH) programs have already provided evidence-based sleep health and sleep medicine education to over 22,000 primary care clinicians.

Thank you to everyone that has supported these programs! Many ASA members have contributed to education articles, workshops, podcasts, presentations, webinars, modules, and conference attendance. We are also very grateful to the professional organisations and education providers for general practitioners, psychologists, nurses, and pharmacists for supporting these programs. This has all helped raise awareness of the importance of sleep health in Australian primary care, and improved access to evidence-based sleep health assessment and management resources.

In addition to these 22,000 professionals accessing education, a sleep medicine issue in the RACGP’s Australian Journal of General Practice is expected to receive 36,000 reads, and the Sleep Health Primary Care Resources and Sleep Central websites have been viewed over 60,000 times since 2023.

By the end of the programs, we hope to provide education to over 26,000 primary care professionals. Stay tuned for many more general practitioner, psychologist, nurse, and pharmacist education activities coming in 2025!

If you are interested in getting involved in any ongoing primary care education activities, please contact Alex ([email protected]) or Stacey ([email protected]).
