Expressions of interest: ASA/NATA Sleep Disorders Service Accreditation Advisory Committee 

ASA/NATA sleep disorders service accreditation advisory committee vacancies:

  • Sleep physician 

The Sleep Disorders Services Accreditation Advisory Committee (SDSAAC) provides technical advice together with administrative support for the ASA/NATA accreditation program.

The SDSAAC is chaired by an ASA Member and includes representatives from the following:

  • Physician representatives
  • Paediatric Physician representative
  • Sleep Scientist representatives

NATA provides the secretariat for the Committee and is responsible for the delivery and operational aspects of the accreditation program.

Expressions of interest detailing the candidate’s experience, including addressing the requirements/attributes detailed above and a full CV, should be forwarded to:

The SDSAAC are seeking expressions of interest from sleep physicians. The closing date for expressions of interest is Tuesday 30 April 2024.

Mentor program 

 

 


The 2024 round of the ASA mentorship program is now open. 

The 2024 program is expected to run for 6 months, and mentees/mentors will decide on the frequency and timing of their meetings. Mentees and mentors may have an opportunity to meet face to face at Sleep DownUnder 2024 towards the end of the program.

The aims of the program:

  • Provide an avenue for emerging sleep researchers, clinicians and scientists to establish formal mentorship relationships with experts in the field
  • Be inclusive of all aspects of sleep research, sleep health and sleep medicine
  • Provide targeted assistance for advancing the careers of emerging sleep professionals
  • Increase collegiality across the field 

Applications for mentees and mentors close on Friday 3 May.

Rob Pierce Grant in Aid 


Submissions for the Rob Pierce Grant in Aid are currently open.


The aim of this award is to facilitate a project in the field of sleep research for a new investigator (up to five years post-doctorate) who is a member of ASA or ANZSSA. Applicants should be training in sleep research or a clinical sleep discipline. Applications close Friday 26 April.

Sleep in Aotearoa 

 


Registration is open for the 2024 Sleep in Aotearoa annual scientific meeting to be held at the University of Otago, Dunedin, 20-21 June. Delegates from Australia are welcome to register.


Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to catch up on the latest research, and news from colleagues across Aotearoa New Zealand.

This is a face-to-face meeting only and the sessions won’t be recorded or live streamed. 

Registration closes Wednesday, 12 June.
