The Department of Health has informed ASA of upcoming compliance activities in relation to billing for sleep studies.

We’re looking for a Program Manager to take responsibility for our Fellow of Dental Sleep Medicine program. This casual work from home opportunity will be responsible for building the success of the program and reports to the CEO. Building and growing a thriving private practice weekend

The ASA and The Private Practice have come together to create an intensive weekend of learning experiences for ASA members in private clinical practice at Sydney’s Coogee Beach. 

It’s relevant to members in private practice from any discipline, and will cover a range of topics related to building a successful practice, managing finances, and planning for the future. An extra day is allocated on Friday for Advanced Trainees to focus on the transition to private practice, joining with more experienced clinicians for the weekend sessions. 

• Transition to Practice: 17-19 June 2022 for recent trainees, recent fellows, and consultants 
• Practice Growth Strategies: 18-19 June 2022 for established clinicians in private practice

Rob Pierce Grant in Aid

Submissions are now open for the 2022 Rob Pierce Grant in Aid.

This Grant commemorates Professor Rob Pierce who was tragically killed whilst defending his home in St Andrews, Victoria during the Black Saturday bushfire in February 2009.

The purpose of this annual Grant in Aid is to facilitate a project in the field of sleep research for a new investigator. Applicants should be training in sleep research or a clinical sleep discipline. Applicants must have completed and submitted their PhD thesis or equivalent and be less than 5 years postdoctoral from PhD award date at the time of the application deadline. The grant could be used as seed funding for a project, to collect pilot data or for equipment, and should be completed within 12 months of the Award. 

Applications must be submitted online via the ASA website by Friday 29th April 2022. 

The successful applicant will be announced at the annual scientific conference - Sleep DownUnder 2022 in Brisbane 9-11 November.
