Sleep DownUnder 2021 news

The call for abstracts, symposia, plenary and short course submissions for Sleep DownUnder 2021 is now open!

Sleep DownUnder 2021 is returning as the joint ASA/ANZSSA annual scientific meeting. It will be a hybrid conference with both in-person and virtual delegates in attendance, giving more members the opportunity to attend than ever before. Postgraduate short courses will be held in person only.

Symposia, plenary and short course submissions
Got a great idea for a symposium, plenary or short course? We want to hear it!

Short course submissions should have a broad ranging appeal to those delegates attending in-person. Suggestions for international speakers to attend virtually are also welcomed as part of any submissions. All efforts will be made to secure approved international speakers, however, no guarantees can be made in this regard.

Put forward your submission by 22 April 2021 to ensure you don't miss out.

President Elect profiled for International Women's Day

The ASA's President Elect, Sutapa Mukherjee, was featured in an article celebrating International Women's Day earlier this week.

Women who lead: Sutapa Mukherjee and her journey to the Taskforce is an in-depth feature on Sutapa's early life, her career to date and her recent role with the COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce as Co-Chair of the Guidelines Leadership Group.

This hardworking group has been active throughout the pandemic, supporting the development of a range of clinical guidelines related to COVID-19. Sutapa says: "it was always collegial but has grown even more friendly and supportive, despite the difficulties of meeting via video conference. All members have grown in the confidence that they are developing world-leading living guidelines and ultimately contributing to the COVID response in Australia and overseas."

Sutapa describes her role in co-chairing such a generous, committed and experienced group as a career highlight and looks forward to meeting her fellow panel members in person: ‘I just want to give them all a big hug.’
