Welcome to ASA's new CEO, Marcia Balzer

22 January 2020

The Australasian Sleep Association is very pleased to welcome Marcia Balzer as our new Chief Executive Officer.  She is replacing Stephanie Blower, who will be stepping down from the position, after 20 years in February 2020.

Marcia has spent her career working in not-for-profit organisations in marketing, communications and management roles. Most recently she led a peak body for community service organisations providing services in aged care, disability support, community housing, and helping children and families. Prior to that she spent nine years as a senior executive with the Australian Veterinary Association leading their communication and public affairs programs.

Marcia has an honours degree in music, postgraduate qualifications in communication, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on two not-for-profit boards as a non-executive director.

She is passionate about the great things people can achieve when they join forces to collaborate through associations, communities, and across sectors. When not working, she continues her lifelong love for music, writing and reading.
