NEST Mentor Award

This award recognises and honors an exceptional mentor in the fields of sleep health and sleep science.  

It is awarded to an individual ASA member who has demonstrated excellence in the mentoring of students and early career researchers. Their excellence may be evidenced by: 
 

  • the extent and range of their mentoring.
  • the positive outcomes for their mentees. 
  • their respect and support for mentees. 
  • their support for mentee’s career development. 
  • their broader contribution to the promotion of students and early career researchers within the ASA.

Nominations for this award are made by current or former mentee(s). Nominations by an individual mentee or group of mentees are welcome.

Nominations should be for a single mentor: a single nomination for multiple mentors will not be considered.

This award is presented by the Australasian Sleep Association at its annual scientific meeting.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. The mentor must be a member of the ASA and work in fields of sleep health and sleep science. 
  2. Award winners will not be eligible for re-nomination.
