New strategy sets course for next two years

1 June 2022

The ASA's new organisational strategy sets the direction for the next two years, with rebuilding community, a new grant program and expanding member benefits established as priorities.

"With the pace of change still requiring organisations to be flexible and adaptable, the ASA Board has chosen a two-year strategy that commences on 1 July," said ASA CEO, Marcia Balzer.

"We've come through the pandemic in good shape, and have laid the foundations for continuing to be a strong and vibrant association over coming years.

"There's a particular focus on rebuilding a sense of community and collaboration among members as we can recommence meeting in person again. We're also going to be working on refining our approach to the education we offer members, and gaining a better understanding of how to recruit and retain members more effectively."

Reflections and discussions on the new strategic directions commenced in October 2021, and have been refined over the ensuing months. The Board particularly spent time reflecting on what the ASA community is all about, and articulating how we can build on its strengths.

"If you're involved with an ASA committee or working group, I encourage you to take a quick read of the new strategy. It provides a really clear picture of what we're hoping to achieve over the next two years and beyond," Marcia says.
